hocken.jpg Jon Hockenyos is distinguished among economists for his grasp of the dynamics of change in cities and urban regions. His specialty is economic analysis that is based on full statistical analysis but also illuminates choices for future competitiveness and livability.

Hockenyos founded his economic analysis firm, TXP, while attending the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin in 1987. Since then, serving as managing director of the firm, he has has successfully completed hundreds of projects for a wide variety of clients.As well as serving as managing director of TXP, Hockenyos makes numerous public presentations and speeches, has served as a resource witness on a variety of issues for a large number of city councils, state legislatures, and the U.S. Congress, and is widely quoted by both print and electronic media.

Earlier in his career, Hockenyos served as an aide to a member of the British Parliament and work on a Senate campaign in his home state of Illinois. He has served on the board of Capital Metro (the Austin region’s transit authority) and has taught as an adjust professor at the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
